SageWalk School for Troubled Teens

Our Programs

SageWalk offers two dynamic programs; the Assessment Program and the Transition Program with minimum lengths of stay, and the option of adding additional family services (the Continuing Care Program as described below).

Each program is specifically designed to prepare troubled teens, for the next step in his or her life. Please contact the SageWalk Admissions Department at 800-877-1922 with any questions regarding the program that best meets your family's needs.

SageWalk Wilderness Therapy Program Assessment Program - This program provides an experience designed for students who need continued structure beyond typical family life. The Assessment program prepares the student for the independence that is necessary to be successful in an environment away from his or her home.

Student Services:

  • Up to 30 days of tuition
  • An assessment in assisting families and professionals in determining the students "next step"
  • 2 sessions per week with a Masters level therapist
  • When appropriate, psychological evaluation (this is an additional fee and may require up to an additional 14 days billed at the daily rate )
  • Individual weekly meetings with Registered Nurse
  • When appropriate, individual and group sessions with chemical dependency counselor
  • Individual and group session with Licensed Master Level Teacher (SageWalk is accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools)
  • SageWalk Rite-of-Passage workbook which encompasses both hard (wilderness survival) and soft (therapeutic) skills.
  • Graduation ceremony including SageWalk Certificate of Graduation

SageWalk Wilderness Therapy ProgramFamily Services

  • Weekly phone calls with the student’s therapist
  • An assessment in assisting families and professionals in determining the students "next step"
  • When appropriate, updates from the chemical dependency counselor
  • A copy of the student’s academic transcript
  • Access to student updates and photographs on the ParentCheckIn web site
  • Parent packet, brochure, and resource material
  • Initial minimum Program fee $13,950.00
  • Gear and Application fee $2,000.00

Program extensions are billed in seven day increments at the rate of $465.00 per day.

Transition Program - The focus of this track is to ensure that the student's growth and progress are sustained throughout their subsequent program transition; whether that is a transition home, to a therapeutic boarding school, residential treatment center, etc... Specific clinical strategies are developed during the child’s program to ensure that the goals and strengths of the individual student and the family are met.

  • Up to 60 days of tuition
  • 2 sessions per week with a Masters level therapist
  • When appropriate, psychological evaluation (this is an additional fee and may require up to an additional 14 days billed at the daily rate )
  • Individual weekly meetings with Registered Nurse
  • When appropriate, individual and group sessions with chemical dependency counselor
  • Individual and group session with Licensed Master Level Teacher (SageWalk is accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools)
  • Opportunity to earn credit in Language Arts, Physical Education, and elective credits through journaling, hiking, and natural wilderness experience
  • SageWalk Rite-of-Passage workbook which encompasses both hard (wilderness survival) and soft (therapeutic) skills.
  • Graduation ceremony including a Family Peak Experience and a SageWalk Certificate of Graduation
  • Continuing Care Program (see below for Continuing Care Program description) is included at no additional charge for all students who are enrolled for a minimum of 60 consecutive days

Program extensions are billed in seven day increments at the rate of $465.00 per day.

Continuing Care Program - The completion of a SageWalk program is only the beginning.
