Field Instructors :

Description: SageWalk, the Wilderness School is always seeking people who have wilderness experience. It is preferable that you have fairly extensive backpacking experience and must be at least 21 years old. This experience can be either professional or personal. You will be hiking your entire shift, approximately 2 to 8 miles a day, with a backpack.

Qualifications: Experience with youth, counseling, teaching, previous wilderness experience, or participation in similar activities can benefit an individual to acquire a position at SageWalk. SageWalk will also offer in-house training from which you will be able to learn communication skills, crisis intervention, and many more tools that you will use working with teens. SageWalk will ask that you make a commitment of working in the field for a minimum of six months. Our Shifts consist of 15 days in the field, 12 days off and 1 day of training each month. Salary commensurate with certifications and experience.
